Jessica Alba was born on April 28, 1981 in Pomona, California. However her father who was in air force kept moving from one place to another. Her father, moved the family to Del Rio, Texas, later. Eventually, the family settled in southern California when Jessica was nine.

Jessica Alba was haunted by the idea of becoming an actress from the age of five, Jessica was 12 before she took her first acting class. Nine months later, she was signed by an agent. Jessica made her feature film debut in 1993 in the comedy "Camp Nowhere".

Though initially, she was cast in a very small role, she was upgraded to a feature part when the original actress dropped out. Although Jessica Alba claims she won the role chiefly because her look was similar to the original player, she proved capable of the work, and made an impressive debut.

1996, Jessica appeared in Venus Rising as Young Eve. In 1997, Jessica appeared on the ''Dini Petty Show'', a Canadian talk show, and talked about her role in Flipper and her general acting career.

In 1998, Jessica appeared in several TV shows for an episode or two. In early 1998, she appeared in "Brooklyn South", as Melissa. A few months later, she appeared in two episodes of "Beverly Hills 90210", as Leanne. And finally, she appeared in an episode of "Love Boat: The Next Wave."

Jessica's career exploded when she was cast as the perfect Max on James Cameron's series "Dark Angel" in 2000. Her popularity skyrocketed along with the show's success and in the first season, she was nominated for a Golden Globe and she won the TV Guide Award as Breakout Star of the Year--nevetheless, the very expensive series folded in 2002 despite its devoted core following.

The L'Oreal model Alba, who became a Feria hair color spokesperson recently, returned to the scene with the title role in 2003's Honey. In 2004, she'll add Into the Blue to her filmography.
